Position Overview:


The IT Application Analyst is responsible for improving and maintaining the company's information systems (computer, communication and network) and providing solutions via integration of individual hardware and software technologies. The position performs administrative and technical procedures on information systems providing general and technical support assistance to users of those systems ensuring the company's systems are operating in a secure and stable manner.


This is an exempt, professional-technical position working generally Monday through Friday. This position may at times require long hours and some weekend work.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Analyze complex business needs presented by the user community and/or customers and recommend technical solutions
  • Provide hands-on assistance with technical solutions to business requirements
  • Support personal computers, peripheral equipment, networks, communications equipment, access control systems and provide support for users' software and hardware needs
  • Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by maintaining standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions
  • Assist in the maintenance and customization of existing applications to meet users' requirements
  • Participate in hardware and software evaluations
  • Develop support and training tools that increase system usability including technical and end-user documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Hands-on ability with a blend of technical, business and communication skills
  • Application development experience with proficiency in .NET programming language a plus
  • Technical software skills and experience with MS Office, MS Exchange, Office 365, Windows and security software
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services
  • Technical skill and experience in Local and Wide Area Networks
  • Phone PBX and Voicemail System knowledge a plus
  • HP-UX Unix knowledge a plus
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and get results
  • IT experience within a manufacturing environment a plus
  • Ability to work independently with various degrees of autonomy taking responsibility for quality of work
  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills
  • Strong time management, project management and prioritization skills
  • Adaptable and self-motivated
  • Collaborative team player


Education and/or Experience:


  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience within Information Technology
  • Experience managing servers and proficient with networking and internet security
