Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k

This role supports the Human Resources team with recruitment, onboarding and administrative support such as record-keeping, file maintenance, and HR database entry. The HR Coordinator administers employee benefits and acts as liaison between employees and the various benefits providers. Additionally, the HR Coordinator publishes monthly/quarterly employee communications and assists the Director of Human Resources with a variety of HR documentation.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Recruitment of non-exempt and exempt positions (non-union and union), including sourcing, ATS management, using position profile system, extending assessment tests, scheduling interviews, drafting offer documentation, arranging and processing New Hire Orientation
  • Maintain employee files according to state and federal laws
  • Develop, maintain and update HR database
  • Assist with the Performance Management process
  • Process departure and unemployment insurance documentation
  • Assist with policy and form documentation
  • Track anniversary recognition
  • Publish monthly newsletter for employees and quarterly Newsline for employees and retirees
  • Coordinate annual Open Enrollment and process benefits for employees
  • Schedule educational meetings and process enrollments for the 401k retirement benefit
  • Coordinate periodic employee events as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher) is required
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills is a must
  • Ability to utilize and navigate HRIS applications, such as an Applicant Tracking System required
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of benefits administration and understanding of employment law highly preferred
  • Ability to analyze vendor information or software programs in order to provide sound recommendations is preferred

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management (or related degree) preferred.  An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the required skills can substitute for a degree
  • Manufacturing or heavy industrial experience required
  • Union experience a strong plus
  • Experience with automated Payroll and/or HRIS systems and with I-9 E-verify is desirable
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Creative is a plus

Typical Work Conditions:

This is a full-time position, generally Monday through Friday. This position will require occasional long hours for dedicated/annual projects.  Work is indoors in an office setting, close to a production environment, and may require going into production areas (outdoors and indoors).
